The Extended Day Program is offered to Half-Day Program students Monday through Friday whose families need additional childcare. “Later Gators” begin the extension of their day with a well-balanced and nutritious lunch provided by the school. Students are welcome to pack their own lunches as well, following our school guidelines. Children with allergies or food restrictions are accommodated. Students then have 1.5 hours of rest time. Children who no longer need an extensive nap are accommodated after a short rest. Students end their day engaged in enrichment activities in music, art, gross motor play, and additional center time.
Students in the Extended Day Program are combined into classrooms and are dismissed at the time that best fits the needs of the family, beginning at 2:30pm. Dismissal ends at 5:15pm daily.
Students in this program can bring a “lovie” and blanket to keep in their designated basket for use through the school week. Students are assigned their own labelled mat or cot. Items are sent home on the student’s last day of attendance for the week to be washed and returned.
**This program is also available as a “drop-in” service for enrolled Half-Day students at a cost of $30/day and $20/day for KCS students.
